This is the game that never ends...

it just goes on and on my friends!

(Yeah, if you have kids - you may know that one....)

Anyway - just reflecting on a conversation I had with my eldest this weekend....

It seems that one of the softball coaches in Collinsville stopped in to one of her classes, (not looking for my daughter in particular - she just knew that a bunch of players were in the class) and asked if everyone had kept working out and was staying in condition....

The answer was apparently no for just about all of them, but then Shannon spoke up and said "yes"!

I get the impression that the coach was kinda suprised, but then Shannon explained that well - she played spring ball last year, played summer ball, played fall ball with the School, and then played a few tournaments with both her new team as well as picking up with a team out of Jenks for a tournament in Del City just before Thanksgiving...

And then there's her pitching lessons and team batting practice every Saturday...

She did get a couple of weeks off over the holidays, and the ice storm had us out for a week or so, but otherwise - it's been constant!

We've discussed the whole "look - don't burn out, but as long as you enjoy it" conversation NUMEROUS times, and while she grunts and groans about getting up early to go pitch and bat every weekend, she really enjoys it!

I hope that she's getting the lesson about persistence paying off... She's sure doing great... And its one less thing to be awkward about being a freshman in High School. She's an athlete and she's a good one.... (not that Dad's proud or anything...)
